November Learning Experiences

We have been busy in November. The students have learned about the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt. We have studied how these groups farmed, built cities, used writing, and who their leaders were. Students have created artwork and journal entries to show their learning on these topics. In Math, we continue to develop our competencies around addition and subtraction when one of the parts is unknown. We have now begun our third math module and are learning how to add 3 addends together by grouping to make a 10 and then count on. In our literacy skills, we have spent several weeks learning to read words with a long vowel pattern by recognizing the magic "e" to change a short vowel sound to a long vowel sound.
