May is here!
We enjoyed a morning walk at Appleton Farm on Friday. The children learned about what animals need to survive in their environment (food, shelter, water) and we were able to visit the goats, cows, and see other animals in their natural habitat.
Our academic learning in the classroom continues as we explore flat and solid shapes in math. The children are learning attributes of shapes and can use various materials in the classroom to support their learning further.
In Knowledge the children are learning about America becoming a New Nation. They are learning about important historical figures and events during this part of our history. The students are engaged and excited to learn new things each day and they continue to make meaning drawings in their Knowledge journals.
In Skills we continue to read our decodable stories that are becoming longer and contain more complex word spellings. The students discuss each story and answer questions in complete sentences. We continue to practice word spellings and learn new vocabulary words each day. Students learned how to write a personal narrative about a real-life experience they have had.
